The Barcelona striker is closing in on a January exit after being snubbed by the Getafe side
Ansu Fati is expected to leave Barcelona before the end of January transfer after again failing to make Hansi Flick’s squad for Saturday’s match against Getafe.
The 22-year-old, who is reported to be earning close to £200,000-a-week, has missed much of the season through injury but has not been part of Flick’s La Liga squad since returning. Fati came off the bench in the Copa del Rey triumph over Barbastra, but has since been left out of every team in the game.
Fati traveled with the team to Saudi Arabia for the Supercopa de Espana, but was left out of both the semi-finals and final. Then he watched the King’s Cup triumph over Real Betis from home, and he didn’t even travel to the match with Getafe.
Spanish publication SPORT state Barcelona they have taken Fati, who spent last season on loan at Brighton & Hove Albion, unable to stay on the sidelines and are now hard at work trying to find a new home for the young winger.
In the Premier League, and Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United who are believed to be interested in Fati, who is also interested in Real Betis, Sevilla and ambitious Serie A side Como, managed by former Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas.
A loan is seen as the most likely outcome, and Barcelona is ready to cover a large part of Fati’s salary, but a permanent transfer is not ruled out either.
