US negotiations to ban Chinese-owned app Tiktok from the App Store have prompted a digital migration of US users to an alternative platform, Chinese social media app RedNote, to continue their business and content creation. And they were warmly welcomed by confused Chinese netizens, curious to communicate with these foreigners who come under the hashtag #TiktokRefugee.
