Swindon 0-0 Crewe
Swindon helped stave off relegation trouble after earning a valuable point in a 0-0 draw against highly placed Crewe in a foggy game at the County Ground.
The match was abandoned after three minutes before resuming at 16:00 despite no apparent improvement in visibility.
Once the game did start, Alex goalkeeper Filip Marschall managed to keep out Town’s Nnamdi Ofoborho’s long-range strike and the rebound fell to Aaron Drinan who dragged the ball over the bar.
City captain Ollie Clarke then hit the post from outside the box before fellow home midfielder Gavin Kilkenny made a mistake in the dark.
Harry Smith looked certain to turn in Drinan’s low cross, but somehow it didn’t connect.
Visibility improved greatly at half-time and new Robins loanee Tom Nichols had a perfect chance to score on his debut after Ofoborh leveled him on the edge of the box, but he shot tamely at the keeper.
Crewe’s Chris Long looked set to get the winner when he slotted through late on, but Jack Bycroft held firm to give Swindon their first league clean sheet in 99 days.
