ESPN host Stephen A. Smith he had harsh criticism for individuals trying to curry favor with President-elect Donald Trump in an attempt to avoid being “targeted.” Smith expressed frustration at the hypocrisy he’s seen in the media and others, who have previously labeled the new president a “racist” and drawn comparisons to Hitler.
“What we found out after the election was how many people on the left were a part of it,” Smith told “Hannity” Thursday. “You know, when you think and you hear about what Biden’s position is, and now he and his family don’t necessarily feel comfortable with Nancy Pelosi anymore… They feel betrayed. They were wondering what they thought of Obama, even though former President Barack Obama announced is that very nice tweet about Joe Biden a couple of days ago… We’re seeing Kamala Harris and some of the things they’re saying about her now that they weren’t saying before.”

“And then you see the media,” Smith continued. “Like you say, the media, and what do people do? Jump up to Mar-a-Lago to kiss his [Trump’s] ring. They are trying to make sure that he will not be their target. All of a sudden you don’t hear ‘racist’ anymore, you don’t hear associations with Nazis and Hitler and all that stuff.”
“So, wait a minute here. You’ve been sitting around convincing everyone and their grandmother that this guy is just completely unfit, the worst scumbag you can find, and now suddenly you find yourself in this position.”
Smith’s comments come after companies and other high-profile individuals now want to be associated with Trump after his decisive election victory.

The ESPN anchor also expressed his frustration with Democratic lawmakers on Capitol Hill after the win.
“The man won the election. The American people had their say,” Smith acknowledged. “What the hell are you doing on Capitol Hill acting like you’re still on the campaign trail, talking about him like they’re both on the line? He’s your president now. You need to sit up there and say, I hope he does well for this country. I hope he does the things he says he’s going to do.”
“You can’t root against him because you don’t like him at the expense of the United States of America. We’ve gotten to the point in our society where you have people doing that and it’s a real problem in America,” Smith said.
