Spurs have struck gold with a “world class” star worth millions more than Dibling
The transfer window has been open for three weeks at this point, and despite being in desperate need of some reinforcements, Tottenham Hotspur they made only one signature.
Now it’s important to say yes A £12.5m acquisition young goalkeeper Antonín Kinský was essential and it seems like it could be a great addition, but considering the state of the team in the season, it is not enough.
Ange Postecoglou the team has been ravaged by injuries in defence, and now that Dominic Solanke is out, their options at the top look less than ideal.
So it’s not that surprising that, over the past week, the club have been linked with a whole host of players, including Southampton’s exciting Tyler Dibling, although even with all the hype surrounding him at the moment, he’s worth millions less than one of Postecoglou’s most important players.
Tottenham’s transfer target
So this is one of the names that keeps popping up in connection with Tottenham of the month is the Lecce sensation Patrick Dorguwho has been uprooting trees in Serie A this season and already has a number of three goals and one assist in 20 league appearances.
However, while Spurs’ interest certainly seems genuine, recent updates from transfer pundits Fabrizio Romao suggests that Manchester United now they were overtaken in pursuit.
From defense to the middle of the park, the Lilywhites are also credited with an interest in Palmeiras midship destroyer Richard Ríos on several occasions this month.
According to respected analyst Ben Mattinson, The Colombian representative is a “pressure resistant” monster with an “an engine that allows him to get up and down the pitch all game”, and could therefore be an ideal long-term replacement for the increasingly disappointing Yves Bissouma.
However, he allegedly has 100 million euros – £84m – release clause in his contract, which could prove to be an insurmountable obstacle.
While defensive and midfield additions are key to Postecoglou’s side moving forward, it’s the front line additions that will excite the fans and a name heavily associated with the club this week is a gem of Southampton Dibling.
The 20-year-old is reportedly available for around £55m this monthand while that might sound like a lot for someone so young, his performances over this period suggest he’d be more than worth it.
For example, in just 24 appearances, the upcoming “game breaker”, as Mattinson called ithe scored a goal four goals and two assistswhich means that on average he scored a goal every four games.
However, while that is undoubtedly impressive for such a young player in such a poor side, his valuation is still overshadowed by that of one of Spurs’ star strikers, who occasionally plays in the same position.
The Spurs star is worth millions more than Dibling
So, to get straight to the point, the player in question is none other than sensationally gifted Dejan Kulusevski.
The Swedish superstar has been one of the few shining lights for Spurs this season and, according to Football Transfershe is worth up to €73.8m, which is a cool £63.3m, or around £8.3m more than Dibling could cost the club.
Now, that is undoubtedly an enormous estimate, but for the last couple of years, including this season, it could be said that it is more than justified.
For example, in only 33 performances for Postecoglou this year, and despite moving between midfield and right wing, the “world class” 24-year-old, as dubbed by talent hunter Jacek Kulighe scored nine goals and registered eight assists.
That means the former Juventus star is currently averaging a goal every 1.94 games, which for a team struggling as much as the North Londoners is impressive indeed.

Ultimately, Spurs should still do everything they can to sign Dibling this year as he looks like he could go straight to the very top, and Kulusevski would be a great player to learn from.
