Southwest passengers sing ‘YMCA’ as they fly to DC for President Trump’s inauguration

The flight en route to Washington, DC was full of passengers celebrating the inauguration of the President Donald Trump in style playing a song associated with the commander in chief’s campaign: “YMCA”
Sarah Rogers, a resident of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, shared a video of herself on TikTok “unique” flight experience on Southwest, which has since garnered more than 2 million views.
Rogers told Fox News Digital that her husband surprised her on Christmas with tickets to Trump’s inauguration.

“I’m not usually a very political person, but in the last year I’ve become quite involved in the Trump campaign… [my husband] I knew I was really invested in this,” Rogers said.
“When Trump won, and we knew he was going to be president, he decided to book this trip for me… We spent money on it, but it was worth it to me. It was a Christmas present. It’s a once in a lifetime experience. “
Rogers flew from Oklahoma to Houston, where she had a stop before flying to the capital on Sunday.
She said she was waiting quietly at the door with the others passengers when an individual on the flight stood up and started waving a Trump sign. The moment was then met with thunderous cheers from other passengers.
Rogers said she felt like most passengers realized they were “kind of like-minded.”

“When we all got on board and everything, there was a vibe in the air like we were all excited to go to D.C. for the inauguration,” she added.
“Before we took off, [flight attendant] it was like, ‘I just want to ask, is anyone on this flight going to the inauguration?’ and everyone started cheering.”
When the plane hit the runway in DC, Village People “YMCA” started playing over the intercom and the lights in the cabin switched to red and blue.
MYSTERIOUS SOUNDS HEARD ON PLANES MAY NOT MEAN WHAT YOU THINK
In the video, shot by Rogers, passengers are seen performing the iconic choreography associated with the 1978 disco track.

Rogers said it appeared that not everyone on the flight was going to the inauguration, and there were some passengers who didn’t join in the celebration, but still remained respectful and let everyone “have their moment.”
“Being on a plane and then [the flight crew] playing [the “Y.M.C.A.”]it wasn’t expected at all, but it was such a fun vibe,” she added.
“I think everyone [is] a lot of hope… with expectations of what the next four years would bring, and everyone was really united in that moment and that song, even though there’s not necessarily a political meaning behind it, because it’s like a Trump song. We all kind of came together and felt very united.”
