Son labels Kane ‘best’ he ever played with as Tottenham ace opens up about relationship with England captain
Harry Kane and Son-Heung Min are the Premier League’s most prolific duo, but it’s been almost two years since they teamed up at Tottenham.
The England captain left for Bayern Munich shortly after Ange Postecoglou arrived in north London, leaving Son to take over the captaincy and his leadership role.
Their combined goalscoring feats are simply legendary. In 2022, they surpassed Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba’s record for the duo’s most combined goals in the competition.
Kane constantly found Son with perfectly weighted balls, taking advantage of the South Korean’s blistering pace, while also hitting goals himself.
And now the South Korean veteran has revealed his relationship with his former number 10, putting him first when it comes to the players he shared the field with.
In an interview with TNT Sports, Son said: “I think the German league is still one of the best leagues, and when we talk about Harry [Kane]I don’t have to give him any advice. For me he is the best.
“He is only for me… the best”

“Since he’s my friend, obviously, you get some extra points. He always will be [in] my top three, no matter what happens, he will always be in my top three.
“Especially, we had such an amazing connection and we played together so we scored so many goals together and yes, to have a striker like this is always a dream.”
The love was definitely reciprocated. After Son reached 400 appearances for Tottenham, Kane sent a video message to Son, saying: “Obviously I’ve been lucky enough to spend a lot of those games with you.”
While Son has undoubtedly felt the impact of Kane’s departure to Bayern Munich, their mutual respect remains strong.
Son and Kane’s partnership will remain a strong memory for Spurs fans for decades to come, and there may even come a time when Kane decides to return for one last dance with his former team-mate.
