Smriti Mandhana beat Chamari Athapaththa to win the ICC Women’s ODI Cricketer of the Year 2024 award.
Indian women’s national cricket team vice-captain Smriti Mandhana has been crowned as the ICC Women’s ODI Cricketer of the Year 2024. This comes after she has shown magical performances with the bat for her team in the matches she has played.
Smriti Mandhana looked class two in ODI 2024 and it is fair to say that she was the most deserving candidate to win the award. This was due to the performance she put in, and she was one of the most consistent batsmen in the 50-over format last year.
Smriti Mandhana played 12 ODIs for India in 2024 and was exceptional with the bat as she scored 747 runs at an average of 57.56 and a strike rate of 95.15. The left-hander also hit four centuries in the year and broke multiple records.
