Virat Kohli and Sam Konstas collided shoulders as they navigated the pitch between overs at the MCG

Virat Kohli and Sam Konstas bumped shoulders as they moved around the pitch between overs and both batsmen were seen getting involved in a big brawl. This saw Usman Khawaja as well as the umpires getting involved and separating both players in the middle of the brawl.

Virat Kohli and Konstas then did not shy away from attacking each other. As the Indian batsman pulled the batsman, the youngster was seen lifting the crowd and putting the Indian national cricket team under pressure.

However, what was good for the match, Virat Kohli and Sam Konstas shook hands at the end of the match. They were also seen talking to each other but a battle between them is sure to be on the cards during the next match at the Sydney Cricket Ground in Sydney.

I think I saw a photo of them shaking hands and lightly patting each other on the back – Alex Carey on Virat Kohli and Sam Konstas

Alex Carey spoke about the fight, saying both players shook hands and added that the young batsman was not taking anything to heart. Addressing journalists, he explained:

“Not that I know of. I think I saw a photo of them shaking hands and patting each other on the back a bit. Oh, it’s Test cricket. Yeah, I’m not 100% sure. But Sam didn’t take it to heart.”

I was cheering, but just the energy he brought, it was something different – Alex Carey on Sam Konstas

Alex Carey also praised Sam Konstas for his batting at the MCG, saying that India did not expect the batsman to perform in such a manner and also added that he was not sure if the young batsman would follow the same pattern in Sydney. He explained:

“Yeah, I was a spectator at that first session and I was probably emotional, the 90,000 or so that were there. At times I couldn’t watch it; at times I was cheering, but just the energy that he brought, that’s was something different, I probably didn’t expect that much of a difference, but he played a style of cricket which, yes, was probably new in India as well,”

“We’ll wait and see how he plays here (SCG). I don’t think that’s his plan every Test match, but to be able to hit a few shots early and get some momentum going for us, the opening partnership was probably just missing that intensity.”

Alex Carey played a decent role for Australia with the bat in the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The hosts lead the series by a margin of 2-1 and would like to win the next game.
