Rohit Sharma’s fan base forces MCA to expand seats for Mumbai-J&K Ranji Trophy clash at BKC
The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) is all set to increase the seating arrangement at the BKC Stadium for the 2024-25 Ranji Trophy match between Mumbai and Jammu & Kashmir. A match between the two teams will be held from Wednesday (January 23) and featuring Indian stars Rohit Sharma will appear in the game.
The Mumbai Team will also be filled with Indian stars in Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shreyas Iyer. With him, Ajinkya Rahane will also be there along with some other exciting players, playing in the match against Jammu & Kashmir in the second round of the Ranji Trophy.
With big names in action, the Mumbai Cricket Association expects fans to turn up in large numbers to catch a glimpse of their favorite players. Currently, there are 100 seats in the stadium, and the Association will probably increase it to 500 seats for the upcoming match.

A source close to the Mumbai Cricket Association confirmed the development, saying fans will have to show their identity cards at the entrance. He also noted that security will be arranged in BKC. Speaking to the Times of India, he explained:
“Usually there is a seating arrangement for 100 or so spectators at BKC, but we will have about 500 seats for fans there near the machines on the ground. Fans will have to show their I-cards at the entrance. Given the presence of the star Indians, there will also be adequate security measures at BKC.”
