Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma won the hearts of many with his gestures during the Wankhede Stadium’s 50th anniversary celebrations. The event was held at that location on Sunday (January 19).
The Wankhede Stadium’s 50th anniversary celebrations saw the legends of Mumbai Cricket along with the youngsters. Big names like Sunil Gavaskar, Sachin Tendulkar, Ravi Shastri, Rohit and Ajinkya Rahane were given special treatment as they were invited on stage to grace the occasion.
The seating on the stage was divided into three parts: right, middle and left. Former Indian cricket team head coach Ravi Shastri decided to take the rightful place in the corner, but what caught the attention of many was when captain Rohit Sharma arrived on the stage.
Rohit, who was assigned to sit center stage, in a heartfelt gesture, walked up to Ravi Shastri and asked him to move to the center seats, acknowledging his status and contribution to Indian cricket. The former India head coach then sat in the center seat with Rohit at his side.
Rohit Sharma’s gesture went viral online as he applauded the Indian national cricket team for the respect and warmth he showed to Ravi Shastri. The video went viral on the internet in a matter of seconds.
