Reactions on Twitter: Pakistan spin duo Noman Ali and Sajid Khan tear apart West Indies on day two of first Test
The second day of the entrance exam between Pakistan and West Indies at the Multan Cricket Stadium began with Pakistan continuing their first innings at 143 for 4, with Saud Shakeel and Mohammad Rizwan on the bend. Shakeel was on 56 and Rizwan on 51 and both played a key role in stabilizing the innings after a shaky start. However, Shakeel fell short of the century, eventually scoring 84 runs before being dismissed Kevin Sinclairleading to a dramatic collapse for Pakistan.
The sudden collapse of Pakistan
Pakistan’s batting line-up faced a significant setback as they lost their last six wickets for just 43 runs, ending their first innings with a total of 230 runs. Especially the West Indies bowlers Jayden Seales and Jomel Warricanhe took advantage of the conditions effectively. Seales took three wickets in the opener to take down Pakistan’s top order, while Warrican added three more to his tally when he closed out the innings. The fall of wickets was rapid, with key players like Rizwan i Agha Salman also succumbed to the pressure, leaving Pakistan in a precarious position.
West Indies struggle against the brilliance of Noman Ali and Sajid Khan
In response, West Indies faced a daunting task. Their innings got off to a disastrous start as they were reduced to 10 for 2 inside just two overs. Noman Ali and Sajid Khan they were relentless in their bowling, taking full advantage of the spin-friendly conditions. Ali was particularly impressive, securing five wickets for just 39 runs in his 11 overs. Khan supported him well with four wickets for 65 runs in his 12 overs. The West Indies batting line-up crumbled under pressure, managing just 137 runs before being bowled out in just over 25 overs.

Pakistan’s command leadership
By the end of Day 2, Pakistan had established a convincing lead of 202 runs. They were 109 after losing three quick wickets but still maintained control of the match. Shan Masood led from the front with a solid innings of 52 runs before being run out. Muhammed Hurraira he contributed a cautious 29 runs as the team looked to extend their lead further. Despite some setbacks in the second innings, Pakistan’s bowlers laid a strong platform to win.
