PSG Confirm Xavi Simons Departure of EUR 81 million in RB Leipzig
RB Leipzig has confirmed signing The midfielder Xavi Simons of Paris Saint-Germain on a permanent basis.
Simons joined Leipzig on loan from PSG in the summer of 2023, immediately after the French side split with 6 million euros to re-sign it from PSV Eindhoven and saw that the loan had been extended last summer after being established as a key player for Leipzig.
This move has now become durable, with reports suggesting that Leipzig has separated from the initial € 55 million (£ 46 million), plus an additional € 26 million (£ 21.8 million) to bring the contract up to a total of 81 million euros (67 , £ 8 million).
Such compensation would be the second highest in the history of the Bundesliga, behind only Bayern Munich, 95 million euros, Harry Kane of Tottenham Hotspura 2023.
“I always said that I was feeling exceptional as at home in Leipzig and that I was honored with gratitude that the club showed me,” Simons said. “Over the coming weeks and months, I will be able to freely follow our joint goals of the Champions League qualifications in the seventh season and reach the DFB-Potal finals in Berlin-they are the only thing that are now important now!”
In the meantime, PSG also said goodbye to Central Beck Milan Stizer, who joined the Turkish side of Fenerbahce by the end of the season.
The concealer was strongly associated with moves or in the Premier League or Serie A, but now he will continue his career under the supervision of Jose Mourinho.
