Ohio State fan LeBron James feels the adrenaline rush at the CFP National Championship game after Will Howard daggers Jeremiah Smith

LeBron James was at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta on Monday night to support Ohio State in the College Football Playoffs state championship game. Born and raised in the state of Ohio, the NBA superstar has been a Buckeyes fan since childhood.

Monday night was another opportunity for him to show his deep passion for the football program. James was very ecstatic on many occasions with the flow of the game as the Buckeyes dominated in Atlanta. However, one case was more noticeable during the match.

As the game drew to a close, Notre Dame he was pushing to return. The Fighting Irish scored a touchdown after Riley Leonard found Jaden Greathouse 30 yards out to make it an eight-point game. With the pressure mounting, the Buckeyes made a key play.

Ohio State started the next game on a Notre Dame touchdown at their own 24. However, they struggled to get going, giving the Irish some momentum. However, in situations 3 and 11, Will Howard found Jeremiah Smith for a 56-yard pass that sent them into the red zone.

LeBron James was seen fired up after this explosive game, celebrating with the people around him in the stands. The play killed any hope for the Fighting Irish and ended up resulting in a field goal for the Buckeyes.

Watch the moment below:

Ohio State’s first national championship since 2014

Ohio State secured its first national championship in a decade, marking a return to the pinnacle of college football. The Buckeyes’ last title came during the 2014 season under coach Urban Meyer when they beat Oregon 42-20 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

The program’s last two national championship wins are historic, as the Buckeyes have now won titles in both the inaugural four-team and 12-team playoffs. Their 34-23 win against Notre Dame ensured they became the first winners in this expanded postseason format.

Ohio State has appeared in the CFP four times in Ryan Day’s six years as coach. The closest they came to a national title was in the 2022 season when they played Alabama in the championship game. However, the Crimson Tide outclassed the Buckeyes, winning 52-24.

After their dominant performance since the first round, there is no doubt that Ryan Day’s side deserved victory this time. The coach and his team entered the playoffs under a lot of pressure after their fourth straight loss against rival Michigan. However, they managed to turn things around when it mattered most.
