Novak Djokovic publishes a picture of MRI that shows an injury to the lower leg after the fans amplified him for leaving the match

37-year-old Djokovic stopped the match against Alexander Zverevo after he inserted a set to open on Friday. After shaking hands with Zverev and the chair judge, Djokovic collected his equipment and started walking toward the locker room.
Some of the spectators in Laver Arena fooled him. Djokovic put both thumbs up before leaving.

During the interview in the field, Zverev punished those who raised Djokovic.
“I know everyone paid for tickets and that everyone wants to see the hope of a great match with five sets,” Zverev said. “But you have to understand – Novak Djokovic is someone who has given this sport, the last 20 years, absolutely everything in his life.”
Djokovic was injured late in the first set of his previous match, winning four sets against Carlos Alcaraz in the quarterfinals on Tuesday night.
Djokovic finished the match with a ribbon on the upper left leg and at the beginning he had a similar wrapper against Zverev.

“I did everything I can basically manage the tears of the muscle I had,” Djokovic said at his press conference on Friday.
“Towards the end of that first set, I just started to feel more and more pain,” he said. “I suppose, it was too much to wear for me. The unhappy end, but I tried.”
