The New Zealand versatile player Melie Kerr won the prestigious ICC T20I Award for Best Player of the Year in the 2024 crisis. This 24-year-old became only the second new Zealander after her teammate Suzie Bates who won the award.

In the T20 World Cup, Kerr picked up 15 wickekets, which is most ever for one ball thrower at the ICC Women’s T20i World Cup. She chose her Wickete with an average of 7.33 and an amazing economical grade of 4.85. She scored 135 running in 6 changes in a top competition with a stick.
