New Zealand facilitates visual rules to lure ‘digital nomads’

New Zealand has mitigated the terms of visa issuing to allow tourists to work remotely as they visit the country in an effort to encourage their tourist sector.

According to new rules, the country’s visitors can now work remote for a foreign employer for up to 90 days.

The government government said that the goal of this move is to make new Zealand “more attractive digital nomads”, thinking of people traveling at a distance.

“The change will allow many visitors to extend their stay, which will lead to more money consumption in the country,” said the New Zealand Minister of immigrants, Eric Stanford.

The Government said that changes relate to all visas for visitors, including tourists and people who visit family, partners and guardians on long -term visas.

It was added that only remote work abroad was allowed, while visitors whose employment was required to be in the country and still have to receive appropriate visas.

The New Zealand tourist industry generates proceeds of almost $ 11 billion, according to the Government.

Many other countries have introduced visa programs for digital nomades over the past few years in an effort to attract an increasing number of people looking for opportunities to travel remotely.

Trend took the 2010s sword, mainly among young workers who wanted to escape from everyday routine. It was further supported by the Pandemia of the Covid-19, when the quarantine around the world led to change in long-distance attitudes.

The countries offering visas for digital nomads are Japan, South Korea, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Brazil, Spain and Portugal.

But the presence of digital nomads in some places also encouraged the discussion. in The South African city of Cape TownDefamation say that the inflow of remote workers has led to increase in costs.

Visitors’ inflow into countries like Spain and Greece also encouraged turbulent protests against excessive tourism.
