Mark Steketee hit a good length delivery that traveled wide. Caleb Jewell attempted a hit across the infield, but failed to connect properly as he took it off the bottom of the bat. It looked like the ball would easily pass the middle and the batsman would survive.
But Marcus Stoinis produced an incredible effort as he ran back to dive full length. He stretched out his arms to the maximum and caught himself with both hands. He was then on the ground with both arms raised in celebration as his team celebrated the goal.

However, the hero of the innings for the Melbourne Stars was Glenn Maxwell. The all-rounder played a brutal innings and ensured that his team finished with a big total. He finished with a knock of 76 runs off 32 balls. He batted at a strike rate of over 237 with the help of 5 fours and 6 sixes.
Beau Webster also scored a scintillating half-century and on the back of a collective effort with the bat, Melbourne Stars posted a total of 219 runs on the board. They now seem favorites to win as they have started quite well with the ball.
