Man City wants to snatch Arsenal’s move for ‘the next Martin Odegaard’
Manchester City wants to beat Arsenal signature Rosenborg midfielder Sverre Nypan, who has been compared to Gunners captain Martin Odegaard.
Nypan, 18, has long been touted as a potential star of the future since making his debut in Norway’s top flight aged just 15. He now has 60 senior appearances under his belt, racking up 13 goals and 11 assists for good measure.
Links between Nypan and two Premier League heavyweights they appeared earlier this month and quickly increased when The Athletic revealed that Arsenal intend to move up in the race for his signature.
The Gunners are rumored to be progressing in talks with Nypano’s representatives as they look to team him up with captain Odegaard, but Fabrizio Romano now he has revealed that City are trying to convince Nypano to move to the Etihad.
Indeed, Nypan was in the stands watching A comfortable victory for City over Chelsea on Saturday after a tour of the club.
City are proposing a loan move to La Liga sister club Girona, which they hope will give Nypano the immediate first-team visibility needed to help him claim a place back at the Etihad.
Nypan has not yet made a decision about his future, with Arsenal still in the running for a deal with another unnamed club.
