Man City received the first offer for Kyle Walker


Manchester City have received their first bid from AC Milan for veteran Kyle Walker, according to reports in France.

The 34-year-old is expected to leave the reigning Premier League champions before January transfer the window is closing after informing Pep Guardiola that he wants to seek a new challenge abroad.

AC Milan soon became the frontrunners for Walker after Guardiola announced his desire to leave, although reports to the contrary in the days that followed suggested the neighborhood rivals Inter was close to stealing the job.

But those rumors quickly died down, leaving AC Milan in pole position to end Walker’s eight-year spell at the Etihad Stadium – one that brought 17 trophies in domestic and European competitions.

French publication L’Equipe they state that Milan made the first offer to City for Walker, and the details have not been revealed, while Fabrizio Romano reports that the player himself has already given the green light for membership.

Further talks are expected to take place over the next 24 to 48 hours, with Walker guaranteed to be on the sidelines when City travel to Ipswich Town in the Premier League on Sunday.

As for a replacement for Walker, City appear to have a strong interest in Juventus’ Andrea Cambias, although the 24-year-old won’t come cheap. The giants of Serie A can expect that get more than 60 million euros for the player they signed from Genoa in 2022.

City are also close to completing a deal for the centre-back duo Abdukodir Husanov and Vitor Reisfrom Lens, i.e. Palmeiras, while an agreement was reached with Eintracht Frankfurt to sign Egyptian striker Omar Marmoush.
