Liverpool on the verge of renewal
Although currently on top Premier Leaguethere is no doubt that Arne Slot’s side will need to be active in the upcoming transfer window to maintain their place among the English and European elite.
They have already started planning for the future in some areas, with Giorgi Mamardashvili signed last summer to join the club in 2025 as a long-term replacement for Alisson, now 32.

Change will also be needed in the front line, with Darwin Núñez still under pressure and both summer signings Federico Chiesa and Diogo Jota prone to injury, leaving Sloto’s side light in attack at times.
Then there are the well-publicised contract concerns, with Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold all set to become free agents this summer as things stand and set to strip Liverpool of three key men if they don’t agree new deals.
Still there is hope that at least Van Dijk staysnothing has been announced yet, while Trent Alexander-Arnold has already been the subject of one offer from Real Madrid this winter, s Los Blancos are confident they will get him now or in the summer.
But there is another key area Liverpool are now looking to improve, and they are willing to splash the cash on it.
Liverpool ready to offer left-back
It comes after a new report from Italy claims that Liverpool are are now prepared to offer €40m (£33.7m) to sign full-back Patrick Dorgu amid interest from Manchester United and Napoli.
One of the main concerns this season for the Reds has been the form of left-back Andy Robertson this season, with the Scot well below his all-time best and the need for a new left-back at Anfield coming into focus.
They have been heavily linked with moves for the Premier League pair Miloš Kerkez and Antonee Robinsonbut now they seem to have moved away from the duo in favor of a more explosive option in the form of Dorgu.
They call him an “elite team player” with “tremendous physicality” and a “superior mentality.” Analyst DanielScouting on XDorga was mainly used by Lecce as a right winger this season, but he is also comfortable playing as a left back, as he has done that for most of his career and for the national team.
He is on the radar of several first league clubs, with Manchester United is the latest to follow him after interest of Tottenham in the summer.

Now Liverpool could beat both to his signature. According to the report, Liverpool have “prepared an investment of €40 million” to sign the Denmark international. They add that they have scouted him on four occasions this season and that FSG officials are “convinced of the 20-year-old” based on what they have seen.
Any deal at that price would represent Lecce’s biggest ever sale, but could prove a bargain if Dorgu can tap into his immense potential, with the 20-year-old set to replace Robertson in the next decade at Anfield.
