Kevin O’Leary hits out at Gavin Newsom’s ‘gross mismanagement’: He’s the ‘California Trudeau’
Another celebrity is joining the growing list of those calling out alleged “mismanagement” of priorities by California Governor Gavin Newsom as the Los Angeles area continues to burn and its residents grieve.
O’Leary Ventures president Kevin O’Leary didn’t mince words on Friday on “Varney & Co.” when he compared the governor to Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau who recently resigned.
“It’s tragic what happened here. Tremendous mismanagement,” he said. “Gavin Newsom is a terrible manager. He’s the Justin Trudeau of California. He’s terrible.”
“People should want to make a change and hire someone else,” O’Leary added. “But I think it’s going in the opposite direction. I think they’re so tired of the rhetoric and the politics and the taxes and the mismanagement.”

Multiple wildfires in Southern California, including the Palisades Fire, the Eaton Fire, the Kenneth Fire, the Hurst Fire, and the Lidia Fire, have left 10 dead and devastated more than 27,000 acres. As of Friday morning, more than 10,000 homes and buildings were lost.
Newsom denied any guilt in the state’s preparedness for the tragic consequences of natural disasters and fired back at President-elect Trump, who accused Newsom of not “[doing] good job.”
“One can’t even answer that. I mean … you know, people are literally fleeing. People have lost their lives. Children have lost their schools. Families completely destroyed. Churches burned,” Newsom told CNN’s Anderson Cooper. “This guy wanted to politicize it. I have a lot of thoughts and I know what I want to say – I won’t.”
The downfall of Los Angeles and the Golden State began long before the tragic wildfires, according to O’Leary.
“We started talking about it with San Francisco, which is a war zone. And now LA, before this, was riddled with crime, people going in and out of stores, just stealing stuff. You’ve documented that forever,” he said. . “It’s time for change.”

“Mr. Wonderful” also reacted to the viral video a distraught California mother confronting Newsom on the street, demanding answers about why the fire hydrants are empty and what he will do to fix the communities that have been reduced to ashes.
“It’s all over the Internet now, ‘Where’s the water pressure in my fire hydrant?’ He says to Gavin Newsom, ‘Ah, it’s a local thing.’ You can’t say that when you’re a politician. He doesn’t even understand that,” O’Leary said.
