The fiery pace bowler of the national cricket team, Jofra Archer, made a bizarre statement about India’s National victory over the seven-year-old team in the first T20I match of the five-match T20i series at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on January 22.

After being asked to bat first, England National Cricket had a forgettable day with the bat as they could only manage 132 runs in their 20 overs thanks to captain Jos Buttler’s brilliant knock of 68 runs off 44 balls against India.

Varun Chakravarthy (3/23), Arshdeep Singh (2/17) and Axar Patel (2/22) made their way through England’s batting line-up to set the stage for India’s dominance at the Eden Gardens. With this win, the Men in Blue took a 1-0 lead in the ongoing T20I series against England in T20Is. For England, only Jofra Archer could affect two shots for 21 runs in his four overs, while the rest of the tour bowlers had a forgettable outing at the Eden Gardens.

Well, ahead of the second T20I in Chennai, Jofra Archer defended her England team-mates saying the conditions favoured, but stressed that the Indian batsmen were too lucky in the first game in Kolkata.
Furthermore, Archer openly challenged the Indian batter by warning that they will be 40/6 in the second T20i at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on January 25 as the England team aims to level the five-match T20I series.
Jofra Archer was quoted by the Daily Mail ahead of the Chennai Clash: “I guess the conditions just favored me a bit more than the other bowlers. The other bowlers bowled well but the batter was extremely happy. A few balls, well, a lot of balls, went up in the air, but they didn’t go hand in hand, and probably in the next game they all go hand in hand, and it’s 40 for six.”

Meanwhile, Archer stressed the importance of staying positive as such losses can happen in India when the batsmen start attacking from the start. The star pacer explained: “It’s just important to keep your head up; it happens a lot in India, especially in the IPL. The batters go hard, the bowlers go hard and we were just on the unlucky side.”
