Jill Biden reveals what happened in the viral moment with Trump
First Lady Jill Biden and President-elect Donald Trump surprised onlookers in December after appearing friendly at the reopening Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris — and now the former first lady has revealed what the pair discussed in that viral moment.
French first lady Brigitte Macron sat between Biden and Trump during the ceremony, but when she stood up and the two were left to their own devices, they were caught smiling and talking. Biden revealed in an interview with The Washington Post that she mocked him and her husband a little.
“I had a good meeting with your wife in the Oval Office,” Trump said, according to Jill. Trump met with President Biden at the White House after his decisive victory Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 general election, and the two men were photographed smiling and laughing together.
“Yes,” Jill replied to Trump, “because you’re both talkative.”

The next day, Trump posted a photo on social media of himself interacting with the first lady in an ad for his $199 perfume and cologne line with the tagline, “A scent your enemies can’t resist.”
Post reporter Kara Voght asked Biden why she was even talking to a man who wasn’t kind enough to her husband to invite him to the White House when Biden beat him in the 2020 election. And what about her husband, who previously called Trump an “existential threat” to democracy ?
“Joe and I respect our institutions, our traditions,” Jill replied. “And it’s very important to me that they continue, and we – what would be the point of nastiness?”
NOTRE DAME CATHEDRAL WILL REOPEN, PREPARING FOR AN INFLOW OF TOURISTS AFTER A DEVASTATING FIRE
A fire broke out at Notre Dame Cathedral on April 15, 2019. Horrified onlookers watched as the fire engulfed the church’s iconic spire and much of the roof. However, firefighters were able to save the main structure of the cathedral, including the bell towers and windows.
An emotional reopening ceremony last month included remarks from French President Emmanuel Macron after the cathedral’s bells tolled.
“I stand before you to express the gratitude of the French people, our gratitude to all those who saved, helped and restored the cathedral,” Macron said.
“Tonight we can share joy and pride together,” he said later. “Long live Notre-Dame de Paris, long live the Republic and long live France.”

Trump once again found himself as one half of another odd couple when he was seen laughing with former President Barack Obama at the funeral of the late Jimmy Carter last week. Lip readers and other political observers tried to determine what the pair discussed as they sat side by side in the pews. The president-elect laughed off all the news by posting a humorous recap of his conversation with Obama on his Truth Social and X accounts.
The video shows Trump and Obama mocking Vice President Kamala Harris’ failed presidential campaign with what appears to be AI-generated dialogue that mimics the two’s voices, and Trump also took a swipe at his 2016 presidential opponent Hillary Clinton, who was also in attendance.
