Jane Seymour opens her doors to former ‘Dr. A colleague of Quinn’s who lost his home in the Palisades fire
Jane Seymour is doing her part to help those close to her who lost their homes in the Los Angeles fires.
In an Instagram video shared Saturday, Seymour’s former “Dr. Quinn” co-star Joe Lando told his followers that the 73-year-old actress took him and his family in after they lost their home in the Palisades Fire.
“Just wanted to let everyone know who has been reaching out and trying to find out how things are going with us here in the Palisades. The Lando family is intact,” the video began. “Fortunately there are angels in this world. We were left with nothing but each other. My friend Jane Seymour let us come to her house and she opened it to us without any hesitation and, thank God, gave us a little place to come and sleep over.”
The actor shares three children with his wife Kirsten Barlow, all of whom are with Seymour at her home in Malibu.

Lando and Seymour starred together on “Dr. Quinn” for six seasons from 1993 to 1998 and have remained close friends ever since. They recently reunited on screen in the 2022 Lifetime movie, “A Christmas Spark.”
In a tearful video, Lando described the conditions facing people in the area, explaining that after three days they had electricity back on and still no gas. He also added that “you can’t drink the water, you can’t breathe the air because now everything is poisonous”.
“Fortunately there are angels in this world. We were left with nothing but each other. My friend Jane Seymour let us come to her house and she opened it to us without the slightest hesitation and, thank God, gave us a little place to come and sleep over.”
The area surrounding Seymour’s home has also been under threat recently Franklin Firewhich burned in Malibu in early December, which is why the actress evacuated.
“I’ve never been through anything like this. It’s indescribable. You see people on TV going through things like this, and you think, ‘Oh my God, that must be a terrible thing. Thank God it’s not me,'” he said. later in the video. “If it was just us, I’d be really okay with this. But that’s everybody. That’s all. I’m just desperate and heartbroken for everybody, everybody that we know. They don’t have homes.”

Lando also addressed the online dialogue about people’s mentality that those who live in the area are wealthy individuals and therefore will be able to recover, saying, “That’s not the majority in this neighborhood.”
He pointed out that the fire affected everyone, noting that in this situation “there are no rich and poor, white, black, brown or red or blue. This fire is evil and will kill everyone”.

“Most of the people are just hardworking people who have lived there for generations,” he said. “My wife’s parents live down the street, or did, and they lost their house after 40 or so years. Our house wasn’t big and fancy, but it was our home and I worked really hard on it.”
Later in the video, Lando tearfully thanks “everyone who has been so generous” to him and his family during this difficult time and promises to repay the kindness.

“I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has been so generous. People take care of us and we also try to take care of others,” he concluded. “Only pray for everything. Everyone here, because this is only going to get worse before it gets better. I know we will get through this. This too shall pass. This will leave one hell of a scar. God bless you all.”
