Is astral projection real? Conspiracy Explained Around Declassified CIA Document Claiming Life On Mars
A CIA document, declassified in 2017, recently circulated online claiming that life existed on Mars. The report entitled Mars Exploration May 22, 1984described how the agency allegedly used a concept in which an individual was psychologically transported to the red planet while physically continuing to remain on Earth, according to Times Now.
This was called astral projection, in which a person’s spirit was allegedly made to travel through the astral (connected to the stars) plane. Allegedly, a person was sent back a million years before Christ and was allegedly given different geographic coordinates to explore on Mars. It remains scientifically unproven whether astral projection was real.
According to a declassified CIA document, Astral Projection was part of Project Stargate (overseen by the Defense Intelligence Agency, or DIA). According to Times Now, the initiative aimed to uncover information about the Soviet Union during the Cold War and explore the potential use of psychic phenomena in military and intelligence operations.
However, so far there is no direct scientific evidence that life has ever existed on Mars. Space exploration agencies such as OUR continue their research on the same.

In the 1980s, the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) decided to use the Stargate project to train human subjects in “remote viewing” as part of their goal of gathering information about global events.
According to the Popular Mechanics website, remote viewing can be defined as:
“A type of extrasensory perception that involves using the mind to ‘see’ or manipulate distant objects, people, events, or other information that is hidden from physical view.”
Project Stargate also allegedly used other mind-reading techniques such as telepathy and psychokinesis, paranormal phenomena in the military, and espionage.
According to a declassified CIA report, “remote viewing” was also used for “Mars Exploration on May 22, 1984,” ie. uncovering the mysteries of the red planet. There is mention of a certain human subject who was apparently exposed to binaural beats and hemi-synchronized sound that allowed them to be psychologically transported to Mars in altered states of consciousness with enhanced psychic abilities.
An individual who apparently went to Mars in a mental capacity reported witnessing an oblique view of an okra-colored yellowish “pyramid or pyramid shape,” along with monuments found in ancient Egypt, “heavy clouds,” “a very large road,” and “shadow perception people”.
“I see very big people all the time. They look thin and tall, but they are very large. Ah… he’s wearing some strange clothes,” the subject allegedly claimed to have seen.
Allegedly, these “very big people” were looking for “a new place to live because their environment was spoiled”. Mars is also described as hostile, where alleged fierce storms forced the supposed natives to take shelter in the aforementioned pyramids, which were also used for hibernation and survival.
The experiment also revealed that Martians reportedly used vessels like “big boats” to move out of their homes and find “volatile lands rich in vegetation.” The study also seemingly hypothesized that the disintegration of Mars reflects Earth’s unpredictable and fragile future.
Project Stargate was conducted at Fort Meade, Maryland between 1977 and 1995. Humans with extrasensory perception were recruited to help gather domestic and international intelligence. Apart from exploring Mars, he also reportedly helped locate hostages taken by militants follow the fugitives.
By the mid-1990s, some researchers assumed that the Stargate project was not useful, convincing, or successful in gathering information. For example, Ray Hyman noted that despite certain sightings being “convincing”, remote viewing is not real, according to British media company UNILAD.
However, he added:
“Contemporary findings together with results [Stargate] The program seems to indicate that there is more than the odd statistical hiccup going on.”
At this time, the DIA and CIA began declassifying all documents and reports related to the Stargate project, including Mars Exploration May 22, 1984. This was done so that the scientific credibility of the venture could later be externally reviewed.
While direct evidence of life on Mars is still being explored, meltwater beneath Martian ice could support microbial life, according to a NASA report dated October 2024.
