German ambassador warns Trump will ‘undermine’ democratic principles with program of ‘maximum disruption’: report
The German ambassador to the USA warned about this Trump’s president-elect administration will “undermine” democratic principles with a plan of “maximum disruption,” the report said.
Reuters reported that it has seen a classified briefing document signed by Ambassador Andreas Michaelis that describes Trump’s upcoming agenda as “redefining the constitutional order – the maximum concentration of power in the president at the expense of Congress and the states.”
“Basic democratic principles and checks and balances will be largely undermined, the legislature, law enforcement bodies and the media will be stripped of their independence and misused as a political arm, Big Tech will gain co-governance power,” the document, which was dated 14 January.
Fox News Digital reached out to Trump’s transition team for comment, but did not immediately hear back.

Michaelis said recent actions by Trump and billionaire tech CEO Elon Musk could lead to “redefining the First Amendment.”
“One uses lawsuits, threatens prosecution and license revocation, the other manipulates algorithms and blocks accounts,” the document says, Reuters reports.
Musk supported Trump throughout the election, and the president-elect tapped him to co-head the Department of Government Efficiency.

Germany last month accused Musk of trying to interfere in the country’s upcoming parliamentary elections on behalf of the country’s far-right political party, the German Alternative for Germany, citing recent social media posts and an article over the weekend doubling down on his support.
Meanwhile, Michaelis even argued that Trump could impose his agenda on states using broad legal options and that “even military deployment within the country for policing activities would be possible in the event of a declared ‘insurrection’ and ‘invasion’.”
However, the Posse Comitatus Act of 1878 prohibits it federal troops from participating in civilian law enforcement unless Congress overrides federal law.

Despite what Michaelis says in the published document, German Ministry of Foreign Affairs acknowledged that Trump had won the democratic election and said he would “work closely with the new US administration in the interest of Germany and Europe”.
