Everton could sign a major £50m upgrade for Calvert-Lewin
David Moyes he faces one of the biggest challenges of his coaching career after returning to the position of manager Everton.
The Toffees are in a relegation battle, don’t worry about that. The Scotsman will have to summon all his magic to ensure they stay in Premier League on the eve of moving to its new stadium for the next term.
In particular, he will have to get the best out of his team Dominic Calvert-Lewinwho has been poor this season.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s poor season in numbers
The attacker has scored only two goals in 19 top performances this season. For a player who has the necessary qualities to be one of the best strikers in the league, the Englishman during the 2024/25 season. was only a shadow of himself.
Latest reports now connect the player with a move to Atalanta and perhaps this is the right time for Moyes to sell the 27-year-old, especially given that this is the last chance he will be able to secure a fee for him.
having missed 74 games since the start of the 2020/21 season, have these problems finally caught up with him?
If he leaves, Moyes will have to sign a replacement. He could turn to Ligue 1 to sign one.
Everton are looking to upgrade Calvert-Lewin
It was ESPN reported last week that Everton have been in contact with PSG centre-forward Randal Kolo Muani’s entourage ahead of a potential move.
A fee of around €60m (£50m) is being demanded by the French giants, although a loan move with an obligation to buy has been touted and could prompt Everton to make a move.

There is no doubt that the Frenchman would be an upgrade for Calvert-Lewin, despite his struggles of late in the French capital.
The attacker has scored only twice this season, although he recorded a higher shooting percentage than Calvert-Lewin (13% in relation to 5%), created more big chances (two vs. one) and succeeded with more dribble attempts (0.7 vs. 0.4) in their respective leagues.
Greetings as a “future superstar” of German icon Lothar Matthäus during his time at Eintracht Frankfurt, the forward is even similar to Harry Kane.
Indeed, according to statistics website FBref, the Bayern Munich star is ninth most comparable player in Kolo Muana in the five best European leagues.
Why? Well, a couple does too registered similar statistics at home through a range of metrics, including shots per 90 (3.77 vs. 3.64), shot creation actions per 90 (3.27 vs. 3.96), takeover percentage (50% vs. 57.1%) and tackles gained in the air (9 vs. 12 ), suggesting they operate similarly when it comes to running the line.
Kane is undoubtedly one of the world’s best centre-forwards, showing his qualities in the Bundesliga since joining from Tottenham Hotspur in 2023.
If Moyes manages to land Kolo Muani this month, he will not only have an upgrade on Calvert-Lewin, but also a Kane-like player.
If he gets going, the Toffees should avoid relegation with no problem.
