Condolences pour in for Jimmy Carter after former president dies at 100
Former US President Jimmy Carter was praised on Sunday by his successors, supporters and admirers around the world as a humanitarian and advocate of justice after the news of his death.
“Our founder, former US President Jimmy Carter, passed away this afternoon in Plains, Georgia,” the Carter Center said in a statement about his death on social media platform X. It added that he died peacefully, surrounded by his family.
Condolences soon began pouring in after the announcement.
