Chelsea are pushing hard to sign the £21m ‘monster’
Chelsea made gains under Enzo Marescathis season, but they plan to bounce back to greater heights with some well-placed signings.
Winter activity is expected, with Maresca looking to sign a new centre-back after Benoit Badiashile and Wesley Fofana lost fitness, but the longer term suggests a new centre-forward is longed for.
Chelsea are hunting for a talented striker
According to the German newspaper BILD – via Sport Witness – Chelsea are trying hard to sign Stefanos Tzimas in the summer transfer window, and the PAOK striker from Thessaloniki, who is on loan in Germany with Nuremberg, is attracting the interest of some high-profile suitors.

Liverpool are also believed to be in the mix, but the report states that it is Stamford Bridge that looks the likely destination for the 19-year-old, who is said to be the favorite and has no doubts about paying the €25m (£21m) asking price.
It’s a complicated deal: Nurnberg will be looking to activate their option to buy the loanee before making any immediate cash, something Chelsea will be happy to agree to.
Why Chelsea want Stefanos Tzimas?
Chelsea has a fantastic striker in Nicolas Jackson, who at 23 years old has scored 23 goals and nine assists in 55 appearances in the Premier League. However, he is not perfect, after five consecutive games he did not score a goal.
Christopher Nkunku endured frustrations during his time in West London and now courted by Bayern Munichmeaning the Blues would have room to add to their rich and plentiful front line. Tzimas could be the perfect addition, able to stretch with Jackson without rocking the boat too much.
This certainly does not mean that the Greek ace cannot dethrone the Senegalese in time, s talent hunter Jacek Kulig already hailing it as a “monster in the making.”
He is scored eight goals in 14 appearances (ten starts) in the 2.Bundesliga this term, he has missed just 11 big chances and averaged 1.5 dribbles per game, suggesting a progressiveness that will stand him in good stead as he looks to replace Jackson as Chelsea’s long-term front nine paths.

Obviously, Jackson is playing at a higher level, competing with Premier League defenders, but he is also nearly five years older than Tzimas and is already outclassed in a number of key metrics.
Tzimas’ relentless intensity and desire to drive the game forward is something that could be perfect for Chelsea. Cole Palmer’s surgical death would certainly work, the Three Lions star created 18 big chances in the Premier League this term.
Such a signing would only strengthen Chelsea’s exciting project in the coming years. He wouldn’t replace Jackson out of the offer, but Tzimas has all the signs of becoming an elite forward in the coming years and needs to be signed.
