His current club are reluctant to let him leave, however, in a situation described in news reports as a “tug of war” involving the 26-year-old Guinean international.

Bayo could be a great signing for Celtic in January, with his compatriot Souleymane Youla talking about the move to Parkhead: “If he has to leave Lille, Scotland would be the best destination for Bay, because Celtic play in the Champions League in the same way as LOSC. And above all, it is one of the best clubs in the country, it is present every year in the Champions League, and the Scottish Championship is not so bad.”

At 26, Bayo is at the perfect point in his career to come in and make an immediate impact at Celtic, gathering enough experience in his career, but is unlikely to peak for a few more years.
