Carrie Underwood triumphed at Trump’s inauguration after a musical mishap
Not only did Carrie Underwood showcase her musical prowess to the world at the presidential inauguration Donald Trump on Monday, but she also showed off her professional skills.
Chosen to perform “America The Beautiful” at the inauguration, held inside the Rotunda of the US Capitol, Underwood was escorted inside and waited for her cue to begin singing in front of Trump, his family, prominent politicians and other celebrities.
But no sign was forthcoming.

Underwood quickly found that the backing instrumental track wasn’t working, leaving her to improvise. “If you know the words, help me here,” she said before singing a capella.
“american idol” the winner, and now judge, was showered with praise on social media, and several applauded how she handled the situation. “This pretty much sums up the spirit of America. When you face a problem, you don’t stop. You continue forward – proudly. Kudos to @carrieunderwood. Well done!” one person wrote to Xu.

Last week, Underwood, who is known to be removed from the political scene, confirmed that she will perform at Trump’s inauguration. “I love our country and am honored to be asked to sing at the inauguration and be a small part of this historic event,” the country superstar said in a statement.
