Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer said on Saturday that he would resign in the coming days after talks to form a coalition government broke down. Three political parties – Nehammer’s conservative People’s Party, the centre-left Social Democrats and the liberal NEOS party – were involved in the talks, which aimed to side with the far-right Freedom Party, which won national elections last September.
