Trent Alexander-Arnold has reportedly informed Liverpool of his desire to join Real Madrid at the end of the season.
The right-back is days away from entering the final six months of his contract and Madrid’s interest in the huge free agent transfer at the end of the season it has been known for months.
Earlier this month it was reported that despite being offered a new contract with Liverpool, Alexander-Arnold was “seduced” by the idea of moving to the Santiago Bernabeu at the end of the season.
MARCH Alexander-Arnold has already made the situation clear Liverpool that he wants to join Madridinforming his current employers of his decision during their latest attempt to convince him to extend.
Liverpool wanted to go into 2025 with a firm knowledge of whether a replacement would be needed for Alexander-Arnold, and a new right-back looks set to be on the shopping list in the coming months.
All eyes will now be on Liverpool as they decide whether to accept bids for Alexander-Arnold in January or resign themselves to losing an incredibly valuable asset for nothing at the end of the season.
Madrid, for their part, will not push for a winter transfer and will instead wait to see if Alexander-Arnold is put up for sale, safe in the knowledge that his signature can be concluded in the summer anyway.
