Eddie Hearn emphasizes that Tyson Fury’s three-month marriage “sacrifice” could affect the fight with Oleksandr Usyk
Tyson Fury is targeting an unparalleled level of focus heading into his rematch with Oleksandr Usyk on December 21. The pair previously faced off on May 18 in an undisputed heavyweight title fight. Fury was defeated for the first time in his career after losing a narrow split decision.
Ahead of their rematch, ‘The Gypsy King’ claimed he had not spoken to his wife for three months as part of his plan to prepare for the Ukrainian. Fury’s admission caught fans off guard and they speculated that his decision to isolate himself from family members could backfire.
However, leading boxing promoter Eddie Hearn believes it could have the desired effect. The Matchroom Boxing chairman was recently interviewed by iFL TV ahead of Usyk v Fury 2, where he discussed the Briton’s comments about no contact with his wife.

“Everybody’s different, and when you take that loss, maybe he just leaves no stone unturned. He’s just saying, ‘I’m going to put everything into this training camp.’ I feel like when you get in the ring, if you know you’ve made great sacrifices and sometimes terrible sacrifices, do you think that gives you more strength in the fight?
